Sebtember 2016 Wrap Up

Hi guys, I hope you had an amazing month. Mine was a bit busy because I just started studying at college and I had to go there take care of my inscription and my house. I had to buy the furniture to my room and move my things there.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: This book was amazing and  I loved it. The plot twists were just amazing, and guys I have to say it: Scorpius Malfoy is awesome. Jk Rowling really nailed it. I rated it 5/5 stars.

Everland: If you haven’t heard of this book go to the next bookstore and get it! It’s totally worth it, if you love retellings and Peter Pan this is the book for you. Wendy Spinale created an amazing universe here, and the characters are really well built » full review here.

Quidditch Through The Ages: To be honest I excepted a little bit more of this book. I like to know more about quidditch but some parts of the book are a bit boring and that makes me sad. The story of how quidditch evolved it’s interesting but some parts could be written differently and in a more interesting way. I rated it 3,5/5 stars.

Title: Everland

Author: Wendy Spinale

Pages: 320

Publisher: Scholastic US

Synopsis: London has been destroyed in a blitz of bombs and disease. The only ones who have survived are children, among them Gwen Darling and her siblings, Joanna and Mikey. They spend their nights scavenging and their days avoiding the ruthless Marauders — the German army led by Captain Hanz Otto Oswald Kretschmer. Unsure if the virus has spread past England’s borders but desperate to leave, Captain Hook hunts for a cure, which he thinks can be found in one of the survivors. He and his Marauders stalk the streets snatching children for experimentation. None ever return. Until the day they grab Joanna. As Gwen sets out to save her, she meets a daredevil boy named Pete. Pete offers the assistance of his gang of Lost Boys and the fierce sharpshooter Bella, who have all been living in a city hidden underground. But in a place where help has a steep price and every promise is bound by blood, it will cost Gwen. And are she, Pete, the Lost Boys, and Bella enough to outsmart Captain Hook?

If you love retellings and Peter Pan this is the book for you!

Wendy Spinale created an amazing and captivating universe here. The characters are really well built, specially Pete, Gwen and Hook. I love Gwen’s evolution, she has a suffered a lot a that made her stronger and braver. Hook has a dark past that made him what he is today, the story behind his evilness it’s somehow sad but interesting. The way Spinale described The Lost City was out of this world, I could imagine all the little details and see perfectly the city in my mind. She changed the Peter Pan story but still kept faithful to it and that’s one of the things I most love about this book.

The story is good at the beginning, as it’s written in the synopsis Gwen’s sister is taken and she is determined to get her back. That’s when she meets Pete, he wants to help her but in exchange of something. What is it? Read the book and find out.

The finale is out of this world, plot twists all over the place and the characters have to show their bravest and darkest side if they want to get out alive.
